MAYA THE COCKATIEL

I live alone, and haven't had pets since I was young...when I used to have hamsters.

Not that I never wanted a pet after that, but I had to think carefully about the commitment it involved, and if it was a good idea overall. I pondered several different animals... a cat, another hamster, birds, fish... even hedgehogs and chinchillas.

So, on June 5, 2008, I brought 'Sid' home...

A few weeks later, at his first vet checkup, it was revealed that Sid is most likely a female(!)... With cockatiels, it's very hard to tell. The only true way to know for sure is with a blood test.

So, her name is now Maya...
